This is a re-post of an original Bug Chicks post on Science Friday.

Last week we unveiled a video about millipedes that we produced with students at the Renaissance School of Arts and Sciences in Portland, OR. It was the first of five videos in a series of kid-created content.

This week we’d love to highlight our vinegaroon videos! The talented students that worked on these short films were not able to handle the vinegaroon, just in case it sprayed them with its defensive chemical. This forced the students to get creative with costumes and props. They used design technology to create moving pedipalps and legs for a full body vinegaroon costume! But that wasn’t enough. They also created a second video using stop-motion techniques and a Lego vinegaroon. Enjoy!
