Silverfish: Your Quiet Roommates
This is a repost of our original article found on Science Friday.
Most of us have seen the small, silvery creatures hiding out in our bathroom and kitchen cupboards. These are silverfish, so named for the tiny silver scales all over their bodies. These primitive animals spend their time munching on the carpet glue, clothing, and books in your house. You probably don't see them often because they love to hide in dark, humid places. As autumn hits it's stride, you'll start to see these small, wingless creatures more and more. Why not learn about your new roommates with our silverfish video, created for Texas A&M University's Department of Entomology? Come with us as we explore the biology and behavior of these ancient animals.
This video was created for "Insects and Human Society", an entomology course at Texas A&M University.
